The ACFAC provides support to individuals and families such as:
  • Cultural and educational activities that celebrate and promote Africaribbean heritage, identity, and diversity.
  • Mental health and wellness counseling and referrals for Africaribbean Canadians who struggle with stress, trauma, or other mental health issues.
  • Community outreach and engagement that foster social inclusion, solidarity, and collaboration among Africaribbean Canadians and other communities.
The Africaribbean Canadian Family Advocacy Center is committed to creating a more equitable, respectful, and inclusive society for Africaribbean Canadians and all Canadians.

Our mission is to provide our clients with the most comprehensive, multicultural integrated systems approach to serving families- in so doing we impact our communities. With a team of internationally trained experts, we are well equipped to help with international experience supported by best practices in cross cultural counselling. We accomplish this by using a combination of traditional and innovative caseworkers trained in Narrative Therapy, Reality Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. MindYourLife empowers its clients and associates through a continuous engaging system of care. We are committed to fiscal growth through responsible use of all collateral resources to facilitate advocating on behalf of our clients.

Claire Kirk

ACAF - Founder

Claire Kirk-Cape is the founder of the E.F.Q system- a wellness program offered by MYL Global. MYL has expanded its services to include a Non-for -Profit sector-the AfriCaribbean Canadian Family Advocacy Center serving community organizations. Claire began her career as a social worker with the Ministry of Community and Social Services after graduating from York University. Her experiences span from Toronto’s Jane and Finch, the Middle East-Egypt, Israel, and the United States. She served with the Child and family services in Illinois. There Governor Pat Quinn recognized her for outstanding services in the community. She also won a Martin Luther King Humanitarian Award with Prairieland Mediation team. Since returning to Toronto, she now serves as an independent consulting Family therapist with the CCAS and Black Creek.
